Rachael Thorleifson (b. Winnipeg, Canada) is an artist based in Prague, Czech Republic. Drawing on family history, esoterics, natural phenomena, and happenstance encounters she works primarily with installation, video and sculpture. Her inherited interest in collecting seeds frames a broader approach to her practice as a form of 'tending'—encouraging growth through thoughtful intervention in her individual, collaborative or collective projects.

Currently completing her MFA in the program "Art in Context" at The Academy of Fine Arts (AVU) Prague, Thorleifson has exhibited across Canada, Germany, and the Czech Republic. She has participated in residencies at the Banff Centre (Canada) and Pilotenkueche International Artist Program (Leipzig, Germany). Since 2021, she has worked with RITA, an artist collective seeking to find a shared language through public exhibitions, performances and printed matter. She previously co-founded and directed Blinkers (2018-2021), a non-profit project space which exhibited, promoted and created an engaged critical dialogue with the work of emerging, early career and experimental artists from across Canada.
